AVL’s WebTPV offering is a web-based TPV where a link is sent via SMS text to the enrollee’s smartphone. 

The enrollee then clicks on the link and is taken to their smartphone’s browser where they are asked a series of questions just like a phone TPV.

During the process, hundreds of data points about the enrollee’s device and interaction patterns are captured and fed into a machine learning pattern to detect anomolous behavior and duplicate device usage.

Question Types

While most TPV questions are Yes/No, the WebTPV platform can also prompt for structured  text data such as SSN4 and DOB for positive ID purposes and utility account number when the enrollee doesn’t know it at time of enrollment.

It can also prompt customers to take a picture (such as of utility bill), as well as record something (like their name) to capture a voice print just like with a phone TPV.

TPV Receipt

While a phone TPV has a recording artifact, a WebTPV is instead memorialized with a PDF receipt. Data points include:

  • Smartphone Information
  • GPS Positions (TPV, enrollment, service address)
  • Timestamped question responses
  • TPV signature
